Jeremy Bentham Is Wrong

Jeremy Bentham conceived our laws as nothing more than a bundle of symbols, of which necessarily corresponded to empirical properties, that adjudicators were to merely read; that is, Bentham sought to alleviate adjudicators of all duties requiring interpretation by supposing words had a fixed reference. Not only is this view wrong, but it is also devoid of a coherent view on language.
